My Little 4 Month Old!

Baby George turned four months old yesterday, which meant a trip to the doctor for a well-baby check up and vaccines. :( He's a tough kiddo though and only cried for about 10 seconds after the shots. I think it was harder on me than it was on him. Here are his current measurements: 19 pounds 12 ounces (97th percentile) and 26 inches (90th percentile).

He is getting much better with his head control and is talking, laughing and squealing constantly. He loves bath time and taking walks in the evening to look at Christmas lights. He's reaching out for stuff now and putting everything in his mouth. I'm forever picking Oliver hair off of his wet, slobbery face. The only issue we've had is a persistent blocked tear duct in his right eye that may require a procedure if it doesn't clear up in the next few months. Other than that, we're doing really good! He's sleeping through the night and is a good little napper during the day. I'm feeling much more confident in my mom skills so things are really getting more fun. I'm so thankful for this sweet boy. My life has changed in a really good way.

Our First Visit to Old St. Nick

We took Baby G to see Santa yesterday! We had such a good time, despite the fact that by the time we actually got to see Santa we were well past nap time. Due to my lack of planning, we parked at the wrong end of The Domain (a big, outdoor shopping area) so we had a 20 minute trek to Santa's workshop. We don't use a stroller yet - I usually carry him in a Bjorn but I left it in the car because I thought we were close - so we had a pretty long walk carrying a nearly 20 pound baby! When we finally got there, Santa was on a break. Of course. We had another 30 minute wait ahead of us, but Baby G was still in pretty good spirits so we soldiered on. The weather was perfect and we had a good time just sitting around. He was really sleepy by the time Santa got back to work, but he wasn't cranky at all and even gave us a little half smile for the picture. Sweet boy. I'm so blessed.

Thanksgiving in Aggieland

We had a great Thanksgiving! We were invited to a big Aggie tailgate with my brother-in-law's family in College Station. Those folks know how to have a good time! It took Baby George a minute to get used to all the noise and people, but he was a real trooper. It was great to spend the day with my family and I'm so thankful for the close relationship I have with them.

Snoozing with Aunt Sara.
Cousin Elliot! She only weighs about 8 pounds more than Baby G :)

Daddy & Baby

Gosh, I love these two. I always knew George would be a great daddy, but it's so amazing to actually watch him become a father. He loves spending time with our sweet boy. He was so supportive of my decision to quit working to stay home with baby G and works so hard to make that possible. I'm truly thankful for him and couldn't ask for a better partner to go through life with.
Baby G is a good little cuddler.

Buddies.

Baby George is 12 weeks old today!

Sometimes I still can't believe he's here. These last 12 weeks have been an amazing learning experience. The most important thing I've learned about motherhood so far is to be FLEXIBLE. Things don't always go as planned and I just have to be okay with that because at the end of the day we have a happy, healthy and very chunky baby boy.

He's over 16 pounds and 25 inches now and in the 97th percentile for height, weight and head size. He's not quite sleeping through the night, but I feel like he's getting pretty close. That's something that this tired momma is really looking forward to. I'm also chasing after this ever elusive daily routine. His napping is still really frequent and somewhat unpredictable which makes it hard to plan the day, but that's another thing that will even out in the coming months. Overall, he's a very content and smiley baby and I absolutely love spending my days with him.

Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the last twelve weeks:

I'm Blogging!

Since we're three instead of two now, I've decided to start blogging so that our family and friends can keep up with the goings on of the Baldauf Family. I feel like the first posting is the hardest so I'm going to skip it and just post a picture instead.

...until next time!

XOXO,
Meg
