Six Months Already?

I cannot believe my baby boy is six months old already! I know every mother says it and it's somewhat cliche, but this is just going by too fast! I really only have six more months of baby and then we enter the toddler phase. Yikes. I'm just trying to soak up as much as I can. Georgie is such a sweet baby. He loves to be held and cuddled so I indulge him because I know that in a few short months he'll be wriggling off my lap and running around like crazy. Some may say I spoil him with all the holding (we don't even use a stroller) but it's just my motherly instinct to have him close to me. Besides, I don't think anyone ever looks back and thinks "Gosh, I wish I would have held my child less."

Georgie did great at his 6 month appointment. He weighs 23 pounds and 4 ounces (< 97th%) is 27.5 inches long (89th %) and has a head size of 18.5 inches (< 97th%). He's been in 12 month clothes for about a month now! We've started solid foods and he's doing really well with that. He doesn't seem too interested in trying to crawl or go for things outside of his reach, but that's just around the corner. He's super ticklish which cracks me up and we spend most days playing and laughing and not getting much else done. Words just can't express how much in love I am with this child.

Galveston Weekend

What a fun weekend! Georgie and I met my sister and niece at my parents house in Galveston last Thursday. We caught a few Mardi Gras parades and took a trip to the Rainforest Cafe. He is getting so much easier to travel with and continues to be such an easy baby. Despite the rainy weather, we had a wonderful time!

Michigan in January

We were able to take a little mini-vacation last week up to Michigan to see George's extended family. Needless to say it was really cold! But we had a great time and were so happy for everyone to meet Baby George. He was such a trooper throughout the entire trip. We drug him all over southern Michigan and he was easy and happy the whole time. Most days entailed at least an hour or more in the car and he just took in all in stride, napping wherever and whenever he could. If you know me, you know that I can get a little obsessed with his schedule, but I really was able to let all of that go and just enjoy the time with family. I was really proud of both of us!
Here is a recap of the trip - in pictures:

Baby on the Move

Well, my sweet boy has reached his first big milestone. He's rolling over! It's so precious. He's pretty excited about his new trick and looks really proud of himself after he does it. I've noticed such a change in him over the last couple of weeks. He's so interactive and playful lately. It's really fun.

This was his very first roll all on his own - about a month ago.
Please ignore the excited Mom voice!!

He's a pretty good little jumper too!

Happy Holidays!

Okay, I know I'm a little belated in doing the Christmas post, but we've been busy! We had Christmas with my family at our house in Austin and then celebrated with the Baldaufs in Lake Charles over the New Year's holiday. Our first Christmas with the little monkey was so much fun!

Merry Christmas!
Santa, what the heck did you bring me?
I love this little turkey

My two favorite girls stayed with us for a few days after Christmas - so fun!
